The transistors can be replaced without soldering, and the default is two matched BC108C by Motorola.PCB can be replaced without soldering.The built-in 9V carbon battery is replaceable.

The transistors ismatched :Q1 is low Forward Current Transfer Ratio (hFE) ,Q2 is high hFE. Possible mixed use BC108C BC108B BC109B BC109C, hFE progression pair arrangement.

PCB is strictly wired according to the topology.Internally installed system for portable electric appliances, which can be replaced at other times according to demand. The output position is 250K(original Fuzz combination Stratocaster configuration), not 500K. Because of the 250K position is not popular, and the high quality BOURNS is available for purchase., the appearance of position does not match other. Heavy Duty 9V battery for the battery. Completely new battery is 10V. New battery can be used for PCB.
Transistor replacement process
1. Prepare transistors, screwdrivers, multimeters and a completely new 9V battery.
2.Renewal battery.
3.Replace the two new transistor. Check EBC leg position. See the figure below. Don’t trust the silk screen.
4.Use a multimeter to measure the voltage between G and C in the figure above, and use a screwdriver to turn the No. 1 position(bias setting) in the figure below so that the voltage is displayed between +4.0 and +5.0V. It is recommended to use +4.9V to +5.0V (high gain mode) or +4.5V (traditional mode). It is not recommended to exceed 5.0V.
5.Turn the guitar volume to the maximum.Turn No. 4 position (Input) to the maximum value as shown in the figure below.
6.Turn the No. 2 position(Fuzz) to the maximum as shown in the figure below, and then reduce it while playing, depending on your personal preference for the maximum Fuzz level.
7.Turn the No. 3 position (Output) as shown in the figure below, and make the volume output consistent by repeatedly plugging and unplugging the effect pedal (you can use the clean channel of the amplifier to check).
8.Turn No. 4 position (Input) to lower，and adjust it to the maximum distortion required for your personal style. After correct adjustment, the guitar volume should be between 2 and 7 to get a sweet point. The ideal situation is 5.
Other notes:
1. PNP and NPN pedals cannot be mixed. Inserting a Germanium transistor does not work properly and the circuit needs to be adjusted.
2.Some versions use the old Philips blue capacitor (lower left corner of the picture below). The appearance is closer to the original, but the sound quatily is not better than Nichicon. Please contact us if you need customization.
3.Due to the lack of high-quality Germanium paired transistors, the Germanium version is not available yet. Please contact us if you need it.
